Firefighting reform, Victoria

The most significant modernisation of Victoria’s proud firefighting services since the 1950s, required a strong communications campaign to manage the facts, answer the questions, engage with stakeholders and ensure ongoing confidence in the service.

From the announcement of the vision in response to a number of reviews and the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission, through the passage of the legislation through Parliament, and then out to the rural and regional areas; H/Advisors APA provided strategic communications advice to the Victorian Government.

Our work also extended to communicating the delivery of long-awaited presumptive rights to cancer compensation for both career and volunteer firefighters.
