Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) have been operating in Australian workplaces for decades – but they focus on mental health for the 5% of the workforce who are most in need.  Converge International saw two opportunities to contribute – the first to stretch back into the mental health timeline and assist the other 95% before they are in need of support, and secondly to harness the power of technology to change everyday living to drive mental fitness improvements.

Converge knows from more than 40 years of expertise across the globe that healthy workplaces with high level of mental fitness are more productive, more resilient, and have more positive cultures. Strong mental fitness amongst staff means lower turnover, less absenteeism, and more productive workers who are engaged and committed.

With this in mind, Converge developed a Mental Fitness App for the Australian workforce – a comprehensive measurement tool to help workers track and assess their own wellbeing, identify areas that need improvement, and provide practical actions to take control and enhance wellbeing and happiness.

H/Advisors APA was engaged to raise awareness around a proactive approach to mental fitness and to launch the App and its associated Mental Health Index.

Over a 9 month period, H/Advisors generated more than 100 media clips featuring Converge International, reaching a cumulative audience of more than 8.2-million Australians. This successfully helped to start the conversation about a proactive approach to mental health.
