Global enterprises, local culture

With the increasing globalisation of the defence sector associated with the AUKUS announcement in 2021, global primes are seeking to adopt a global perspective without sacrificing local culture.

A leading prime approached H/Advisors APA to develop a work Diversity Plan and a Reconciliation Action Plan for the Australian marketplace.

This included the need to facilitate staff engagement sessions supplemented by online surveys, and to analyse the feedback for the development of the final Plans.  Ultimately, staff needed to own the Plans and determine how their rollout would be driven and measured.

Over the past decade, H/Advisors APA has undertaken other work for this global prime including:

  1. Perception Audit with the defence forces and Australian Government to determine views on current contract performance, pipeline work and general awareness.

  2. Focus groups and interviews with SMEs to determine how the prime can work more effectively with current and potential partners to ensure the development of local skills and sovereign IP.

  3. Staff satisfaction research around a change in leadership.

The above projects sit comfortably with developing a strong local presence within a global sector.
